Reserve river cabin stays from Austin on Hill Country water

Our office on Exposition Boulevard plans river cabin stays from Austin to eleven lodges, inns and cabin resorts along eight Hill Country rivers. What do you want the water for?

Sending this costs nothing and holds nothing. The form is open 24/7; the written answer follows the office times shown below.

Eleven stays from the Comal to the Pedernales

Eleven lodges, inns and cabin resorts on eight rivers, from under an hour to a little over three hours from Austin, each with its own page in the full catalog. The tiles run from the river that keeps the most of its May water through August to the one that keeps the least: spring-fed rivers such as the Comal and the San Marcos hold most of their flow into late summer, while rain-fed rivers such as the Blanco and the Pedernales are at their best in spring and after fall rain.

This fall has been dry. Over the 30 days to late October the Blanco at Wimberley ran near 6 cubic feet per second against a usual October median of 46. Water follows rain, so each written quote describes the river as it stands that week.

Lodge nights and required fees in the figure, hotel tax outside it

Each figure counts the lodge nights for two people sharing and any cleaning or resort charge the lodge makes mandatory, before tax. The state and local hotel tax the lodge adds at checkout is paid separately, along with the drive in your own car, meals and groceries, and tubes, boats or park entry from local outfitters.

Each lodge pays our office a commission after the stay. The total for your real dates is confirmed in the quote, with tax shown on its own line.

how each from figure is built

  • Meals, groceries and anything bought on the river

Planning and the written quote cost you nothing: the lodge pays the office a commission after your stay.

Four questions on payment, holds, low water and distance

Who do I pay for the stay?

The lodge, inn or cabin resort itself, on its own terms and its own schedule. Payment happens at the lodge, and the lodge pays our office a commission once your stay is over.

Does sending the form hold any nights?

Sending a request costs nothing and holds nothing. Nights are held only after you say yes in writing to the quote; then we ask the lodge to reserve them in your name, and it sends you its own confirmation.

What happens if the river is low when we arrive?

The lodge decides whether your nights can move, and we ask it on your behalf. Its cancellation and change terms are written into the quote before you agree, so you know them from the start.

Which stay is closest to Austin?

Wimberley, on the Blanco, at about 38 miles and just under an hour by car. The farthest are on the Frio at Concan and Leakey, a little over three hours away.
