A travel agency on Exposition Boulevard in Austin, reserving river nights in the Hill Country
We are a small, independent travel agency on Exposition Boulevard in Austin, working from one office in the west part of the city near Tarrytown. Our whole job is riverside nights in the Texas Hill Country: lodge rooms, inn rooms and cabins on the Comal, the Guadalupe, the Frio, the Llano and a handful of other rivers within a day's drive.
This page explains who answers when you write, how a day in the office is spent, how the work gets paid for, and how a lodge earns a place in the catalog.

How a working day in west Austin is spent
Most of the day goes to requests. Someone writes in with a month, a number of adults and an idea of what they want from the water, and we match that to a stay that fits. Then we contact the lodge, inn or cabin resort and ask plainly whether those nights are open.
Once the lodge replies, we write a single quote. It names the lodging business, the nights, the price for those dates with tax shown on its own line, and the lodge's own cancellation terms. Because this fall has been dry on several rivers, the quote also says how the river is running that week, in plain numbers, so nobody drives out expecting water that is not there.
When you answer yes in writing, we ask the lodge to hold the nights in your name, and the lodge sends you its own confirmation. You pay the lodge directly and check in at its desk. The full order of events sits on the seven-step page.
A commission from the lodge after checkout
You pay us nothing, and this website never takes a payment. The office earns a commission from the lodging business, paid after your stay is over.
That arrangement shapes how we work. A quote costs you nothing and holds nothing, so there is no reason to press anyone toward a yes. If the dates or the river conditions are wrong for what you have in mind, we would rather say so in the quote and suggest another month.
What a lodge needs before it joins the catalog
Every place we plan around is run as a lodging business. That means a lodge, an inn or a cabin resort that runs its own rooms or cabins, keeps its own front desk and collects Texas hotel tax itself.
We sort the eleven stays by how well each river holds its water from May into August, using public gauge records. Spring-fed rivers keep most of their flow through summer; rain-fed rivers run best in spring and after fall rain. You can compare them on the rivers and their seasons.
- Its own front desk where guests register on arrival
- A nightly rate we can read and repeat in a quote, marked as our estimate until the lodge confirms it in writing
- Its own written cancellation terms, passed to you before you agree
- Hotel tax collected by the lodge at checkout
