Historic Gruene river view inn to reserve in any season

from$410for two sharing, 2 nights, $205 per person

This stay is a Gruene river view inn on the Guadalupe: two nights in a room that looks out over the water, in the old district of New Braunfels. Our office in Austin checks your dates with the inn, writes up one quote, and once you agree, asks the inn to hold the room in your name.

It works in any month of the year, and it is about an hour's drive from west Austin, which makes it an easy Friday departure after work.

A river-facing room in a historic inn above the Guadalupe

You sleep in a room with a river view at a historic inn, a room the inn prices for two people sharing. The inn runs its own front desk, so you register there when you arrive, settle the bill with the inn directly, and deal with its staff for anything about the room itself.

Outside the door is the Guadalupe, and around it the older streets of Gruene. The inn charges $25 a night for a third guest in the room; if you plan to bring one, tell us in the request and the quote will show it.

Gruene inn rate already counts

  • 2 nights for two sharing: river-view room at a historic inn
  • Every charge the lodge makes mandatory; it lists none beyond the nightly rate

Paid separately, to the inn or along the way

  • Texas hotel tax and any local hotel tax, added by the lodge at checkout
  • Driving there and back in your own car
  • Meals, groceries and anything bought on the river
  • Tubes, boats and park entry from local outfitters or parks
  • A third guest in the room, which the inn charges $25 a night

from$410for two sharing, 2 nights, $205 per person

The figure is two nights at the inn's published $205 nightly rate for a room two can share, with no mandatory fees, which comes to from $410 for two, or from $205 per person. Hotel taxes are added by the inn at checkout and are shown apart in the quote, and the final amount is confirmed in writing for your dates. Our planning and the quote are free to you; the inn pays the office a commission once your stay is over.

A steady Guadalupe summer at Gruene

The Guadalupe at Gruene belongs to the spring-fed group in our catalog. The nearest USGS gauge, 08168500, gives a May median of 218.3 cubic feet per second (cfs) for 1996 to 2025, and an August median of 153.3 cfs.

Put another way, August keeps about 70% of what the river carries in May. That is a steadier summer than any of the rain-fed rivers we plan for, though it still depends on what the springs and the weather deliver in a given year.

Gruene in cool months, when the town is the reason

We plan this inn all year. In warm months most people come for the river; in cooler months the town and a quiet room by the water are reason enough. Rain has been thin across the region this fall, and several nearby rivers are running well under their usual October level, so we make no promise about the water. The written quote says how the Guadalupe is running in the week you choose.

Inn terms and two tax lines, answered in writing

The quote names the inn, the exact nights, the room, the price for those dates with Texas state hotel tax (6%) and local hotel tax set out on their own lines, and what the inn's policy says about canceling. Nothing is held until you answer it in writing.

Our figure starts from the rate the inn published on 30 October 2026. Inns change rates by date, weekday and demand, so the number for your real dates can be higher or lower, and the quote is where it becomes firm.

51 miles south, slower on Friday afternoons

Gruene lies about 51 miles from the office, roughly 1 hour 2 minutes by the usual route on an open road. The drive runs south from the city to New Braunfels, and Friday afternoons tend to be slower, so leave room in the plan.
